Peneda Geres National Park 3 Days Private Tour
This 3-day tour offers a full journey through Peneda-Gerês National Park, blending wild nature, history, local culture, and living traditions.
On the first day, we travel towards Pitões das Júnias, passing by the legendary Devil’s Bridge, the impressive Ponte da Mizarela, and the remote village of Cabril. In Pitões, we explore the traditional village, its ancient monastery, and the scenic waterfall. After lunch, we head down to the peaceful village of Outeiro, near the Paradela dam, where we spend the night. Surrounded by hiking trails and local traditions like handmade smoked meats, it’s the perfect place to unwindwith. .
On the second day, we visit Fafião, the Wolf Trap (Fojo dos Lobos), and its panoramic viewpoint, continuing to the Tahiti and Arado waterfalls and the Pedra Bela viewpoint. In the afternoon, we explore the village of Gerês (Vilar da Veiga), known for its thermal waters, local crafts, and surrounding nature. After checking into our accommodation, there’s free time to relax at the Alqueirão river beach or nearby or do some other activities and in the park.
On the third day, we cross the Albergaria Forest and, for those who wish, we walk a short section of the ancient Roman road known as the Geira Romana. We visit the Portela do Homem or São Miguel waterfall, then head to Lindoso to see the medieval castle and traditional stone granaries (espigueiros) and stop for lunch.
In the afternoon, we pass through Soajo, the Serra Amarela, the Vilarinho das Furnas dam, and Campo do Gerês, ending our journey at the Sanctuary of São Bento da Porta Aberta.
